Menorquin 34

Interior architecture and interior design overhaul of an acclaimed 10m yacht to maximise its usable spaces and habitability.

Menorquin 34

Menorquin 34 is the smallest yet most acclaimed yacht from Menorcan shipyard Sasga Yachts. It's hull and superstructure were designed by Barracuda Yacht Design's Iñigo Toledo and are the essence of the vessel's maneouvrability and superior use of living space, which has garnered international praise. In 2020, marking the shipyard's 10th anniversary, we completely re-studied and re-designed all the interior volumes to optimise and improve habitability and usable space.

Following our Design Thinking methodologies and a detailed 3 dimension recreation of the yacht we were able to maximise the spaces both in the main deck, head and cabins. Headroom was greatly improved in the lower deck, whilst we eliminated steps and different levels in the main salon, kitchen and helm area. The overall result was successfully received by the market, driving a strong growth in demand for the newly updated interior layout.

A product design take
A product design take
Following our product design methodologies we were able to study the yacht features and interiors from an industrial design point of view. This allowed a greater cohesion between volumes and architectural elements that resulted in extra features and spaces that improved the yacht's value.

Re-engineering
Re-engineering
Competition in shorter lengths is much fiercer than in the larger yacht market, where margins are bigger. This is why all costs and processes are crucial to achieve a profitable sale price. By designing the yacht's interiors with manufacturing in mind, this redesign did not have financial drawbacks.
