Every year, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) promotes an institution wide contest to design the following season's visual identity. In 2017, our founder Lluc Pons created "Un Mar d'Oportunitats", a visual identity proposal that won the contest after being selected as one of 4 finalists and finally winning a popular voting with 2,140 votes (48% of the total 4,415 ballots). The design was printed in over 32,000 items distributed by the entity in 2018.

An ocean of opportunity
An ocean of opportunity
"Un Mar d'Oportunitats" – An Ocean of Opportunity. The identity's design and story was inspired by the University's (and Barcelona's) proximity to the Mediterranean sea. Each of the artwork's shapes and tone were thoroughly detailed to create an harmonious visual composition. Playing with geometric patterns and blue hues that visually transmitted the openness, freedom and future possibilities that the entity enables and promotes.

Symbol of a generation
Symbol of a generation
A University is more than an institution, it's a entity for progress and divulgation, but specially a place where young adults specialise and polish their skills ahead of a successful future career. Each generation is symbolised by their promotion merchandise and memorabilia, which are proudly displayed tokens that communicate shared values and intentions around campuses and cities.
